Access is infrastructure, not individual capacity. A conference should not require resilience to attend.
CCT 2027 aims to be a conference people can attend, present at and enjoy regardless of disability, caring responsibilities, career stage, location or budget. Planning is still under way, so this page separates what is already in place from what we are working towards. We will update it as plans are confirmed.
Already in place
- Remote presenting. Presenting on site is the default, but remote presenting over Zoom will be considered for accepted authors whose personal circumstances prevent travel to Finland.
- Reduced fees for Global South scholars. CCTC Global South members will be offered reduced registration fees for both in-person and remote participation. Rates will be published with the fees.
- Conduct. CCT 2027 follows the CCT Statement on Harassment. Contacts for raising concerns, independent of the organizing committee, will be named before the conference.
- Visa invitation letters for accepted participants, on request.
What we are working towards
- Accessibility information for every venue (step-free routes, lifts, accessible toilets), published once each space has been checked.
- A quiet room and a nursing room at the main venue.
- A confidential question in the registration form on access, dietary and caring needs, so we can plan support early.
- Asking for consent before photographing or recording participants, rather than assuming it.
- Information on local childcare options.
- Which further services, such as captioning, we can provide. We will state clearly what is and is not available when registration opens.
